Hunger strike over
Dr Luis Luarca,
the Cuban refugee who has been on a hunger strike on the grounds of the Glass
House in George Town, protesting among other things human rights abuses both
here and in his native Cuba, has ended his 22-day ordeal. He told Cayman Net News earlier on Tuesday 21 February that he had contacted the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR)

"Rogue" parents warned over new law
Children and Family Services Director, Deanna Lookloy, told
Cayman Net News with ten days to go before the Week of the Young Child, work is underway on the Children’s Law and warned “rogue parents” who regularly do not comply with Social Workers’ plans for counselling and other measures, they will be “dealt with by the law.”
