Hospital staff exempt
In the wake of the article “HSA in staff crisis” published in Cayman Net News on 3 February, where it was reported the Health Services Authority (HSA), could lose as many as 25 to 40 employees each year as a result of the roll-over policy, it has been revealed that all HSA
employees are now exempted from the seven-year fixed term policy of the

the theme, “Building better futures for all children,” the Week of the Young
Child draws to a close after a week of events and occasions for some of the
country’ youngest residents. The week began with the Launching Service
at John Gray Memorial United Church in George Town on Sunday 5 March.

Riot at Home raises concerns as girls sent to prison
An
incident at the Frances Bodden Home recently has sparked concerns over the
need for more suitable, safekeeping facility for young girls at risk.
On 27 February five of the nine resident girls at the Frances Bodden Home
threw chairs and set off a fire extinguisher. According to Dan
Bacallao, Chief Executive Officer of Children and Youth Services (CAYS) the
incident “revolved around the girls not wanting to follow instructions.”..
