Cubans raft to Little Cayman
A
raft made from planks of wood and fifty-gallon drums for flotation reached
Little Cayman with seven Cubans on board Wednesday evening, 8 March. The primitive vessel, described by residents as one of the worst that has landed on Little Cayman, broke apart when it was taken out of the water.

CUC and Government back in negotiations
License negotiations are back on the table between the Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC)
and the current Government administration according to CEO Richard Hew.

Still no Labour Appeals Tribunal
There
are 18 cases waiting for a Labour Appeals Tribunal, which has not convened
since December 2004. There are also 30 cases also pending for the Cayman
Brac Labour Tribunal. According to the Minister with responsibility
for Employment Relations, Hon Alden McLaughlin, the problem in holding a
tribunal is the difficulty in trying to find qualified people who will agree
to take on the responsibility...
