Growing demands for emergency services The Cayman Island Emergency Medical Services (EMS) takes an average of 4000 calls per year. To handle those numbers there are paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMT) stationed at three stations in George Town, West Bay and North Side around the clock, 365 days a year. DUKER of the Day - Gina Ebanks-Petrie The third Cayman Islands recipient of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award is from West Bay and the eldest daughter of Benson and Bessie Ebanks. Gina’s involvement in the Award Scheme began while she was a member of the Girl’s Brigade during which time she received her Bronze Award. While undertaking “A” level studies in England, Gina completed the requirements for the Gold Award. ... read more..
