Ernesto spares Cayman

Hurricane Ernesto, the first hurricane to form in the Atlantic this year, gradually tracked farther east over the weekend, taking its projected path away from the Cayman Islands. Backbencher's call for private school funding heeded

The Government has more-than-doubled the amount of money each Caymanian student doing A-level courses in private schools in Cayman will get from the Public purse. Up to last year, Government support to A-level students in private schools stood at approximately 35 per cent of tuition costs and now, A-level students at private schools will be entitled to 80 per cent.... read more..


'Rollover should be across-the-board'

Currently, the seven-year term limit rollover policy does not apply to expatriates working as Government's employees, however, the Government believes this should change. Speaking at a Media Briefing by Cabinet Members on 25 August 2006, Minister of Education Hon McLaughlin said that the rollover policy should apply across-the-board.
