CML Offshore Recruitment, the islands’ leading professional recruitment agency, has welcomed the arrival of a new legal Recruitment Consultant to their team. Simon Scott joined CML at the beginning of October and will be responsible for looking after the recruitment needs of our legal clients in the Caribbean jurisdictions and beyond.
Hailing from Cleveland in the North East of England, Simon graduated in law from Queens’ College, Cambridge University and then trained, qualified and practiced in private practice in Manchester as an employment lawyer. Simon’s foray into the legal recruitment world began a few years later and during the course of his successful career he has since worked for several renowned legal recruitment firms in London, Bristol and Manchester.
“Simon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team and we are delighted to have him as part of our legal division. What sets CML apart in a crowded market is our unique combination of qualified financial services professionals and experienced recruiters. As a qualified lawyer and proven Recruitment Consultant, Simon Scott represents the very best of both. We’re very pleased to welcome him on board,” said Vice President Isy Obi.
In recent years CML, with offices in the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong, has established itself as the leading recruitment agency for the offshore legal sector, placing lawyers, paralegals and legal secretaries in jurisdictions such as Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Turks and Caicos, the Channel Islands and Switzerland. In addition, with the expertise of four qualified Chartered Accountants on staff including CEO Steve McIntosh and VP Isy Obi, their Accounting Recruitment Team has gone from strength to strength.
“The turmoil in the global financial services industry has kept our Accounting Recruitment Team very busy in the last few months,” Ms Obi said.
“Although some companies have downsized, we have seen a consistent level of demand at the senior level and the market continues to strengthen, especially for financial services professionals willing and able to relocate internationally,” she added.
As well as offering administrative and temporary staffing solutions, payroll, immigration and other HR services, CML also act as Corporate Secretary and Controller to the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants (CISPA), as well as providing administrative support to the Cayman Islands Society of Human Resource Professionals (CISHRP).
Speaking of his new role Mr Scott said, “My focus for now is to maintain and develop the client relationships established so effectively by my predecessors here at CML and ultimately to offer clients the best possible service with their legal staffing requirements.” |
