National Festival Director, Casandra Hibbert, receiving sponsorship cheque from Krys & Associates Chief Financial Officer, William Fleury.
This year, sports make up a major part of the The National Festival of the Cayman Islands, Pirates Week. Not only does a sporting event, the 5K run, begin the festival but an early morning 10K race wraps up the festival along with swimming and darts.
The 10K Run, sponsored by Krys & Associates, is a challenging race that attracts over 150 runners locally and internationally. Organised by the Phoenix Athletic Club, the race kicks off at 7:00 am on Sunday 22 November.
The race starts in front of Eats Café on West Bay Road with the course running into West Bay to Town Hall Road, then on to Hell Road, turning around at the Devil’s Hangout and returning to West Bay Road. The finish is opposite the Courtyard Hotel on the beach where a great breakfast can be enjoyed.
Runners are advised to take precautions against dehydration and expect a course of maximum of one and one half hours. This race is also open to joggers, walkers, and baby carriages so you can make it a family affair if you wish.
National Festival Director, Casandra Hibbert highlighted that “the National Festival supports events that not only bring out the culture and heritage of our islands, but also one in which promotes a healthy mind and body. Krys & Associates has come once again to support this ethic and we absolutely appreciate and thank them for their corporate contribution.”
“We are pleased again to be involved in Pirates Week and specifically the 10K. Every year the event draws runners and families locally and internationally, and each year there seem to be more prizes available. It is a fun event and a great way to finish off the week-long celebration,” said Kenneth Krys, Founder and Managing Director of Krys & Associates.
Registration forms are available at the Pirates Week Office. For more information on the race, call us at 345.949.5078 or email us at pirates@candw.ky. |
