Top of the table team Scholars International will be at it again this Sunday, 1 November at the TE McField Sports Centre (Annex) when they take on underdogs Roma at 5:00 pm.
Scholars International are way ahead with fifteen points in hand, after taking full points from five games, while Roma only has three points from four outings.
This West Bay-based team has been the most feared team in the history of Cayman football. Last season they lost their flair, but played average football to remain in the Premier League, finishing in the top five.
Since the start of the season, they have taken the competition by storm, dismissing all their opponents overpoweringly and without much competition.
Roma, on the other hand, managed to remain in the Premier League at the expense of Latino FC’s failure to meet certain requirements of the football association. They have been playing well, but not scoring goals.
At the moment Roma has only gained three points, after defeating Future FC 1-0 recently. They struggle at the bottom of the table with Future and Bodden Town.
Can they get past Scholars International in this game or share the points?
It would be interesting to see what happens this Sunday when defenders Encumber Brown, Phillip Berry, Romeo Thomas and Jermaine Brown in goal, backed by the awesome Chris Douglas, hard running Nahun Rodriquez, striker Fabian Malcolm, Roy Forbes, Nikolai Hill, Leon Whittaker and Kingsley Wellington try to get by Roma, as they continue to dominate the 2009-2010 CIFA Premier League competition.
No doubt Roma will not be making it so easy for Scholars International as the presence of Gary Blake, Kemar Boothe, Narval Buchanan, Andrian Dawkins, Cohen Daley, Tommy Morrison, Amar Mundle, Roger Webley, Dwayne ‘Gaza’ Wright and Clifton Rickets will definitely be felt as these players try desperately to prove a point in this crucial game.
At 7:00pm at this same venue George Town meets Sunset. Both teams are on eight points each and have been playing well. This game can go either way or the points can be shared.
In West Bay, at the Ed Bush Stadium, all eyes will be on defending champions Elite as they face Tigers in another crucial game at 5:00 pm. Can Elite rebound and take this win or will Tigers unleash their instincts and sink the struggling defending champions into further defeats?
Bodden Town journeys to this same venue to encounter Future at 7:00 pm. This game can go either way despite the fact that Bodden Town have found form and are playing more confidently now. Future will be coming at them to get more points and leave the relegation zone.
Scholars International is ahead with fifteen points, Sunset and George Town on eight a piece, Tigers on seven, Elite on five, Bodden Town on four, Roma and Future on three.
