You may remember that Donnie Neuenberger was the driver for the Cayman Islands Race car two years ago. And now Mr Neuenberger and Royal Farms began the 2008 season opener competing in the large field at Daytona but came up short in making the field.

This past weekend was a great comeback celebrating a 14th place finish in the NASCAR Nationwide Talladega events. Mr Neuenberger moved up in the field after starting in the 39th position to his best finish yet in the Nationwide Series.

Look for Mr Neuenberger in the upcoming 2008 May Dover International Speedway events.

“It was great to get our first top 15 finish in such a tough series while wishing we had the financing to run more often. I want to thank all the great sponsors I have and the support of so many fans,” he said.

In 2006 Mr Neuenberger was competing in the colours of the Cayman Islands for the NASCAR season, which starts every year at the Daytona Speedway.

The project was the brainchild of Arch Automotive and Spectrum Productions who teamed up with the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism to promote the Islands at this major sporting event.

The car competed in the Busch Series race, held the day before the legendary Daytona 500. With driver Donnie Neuenburger at the wheel, the Cayman Islands Chevrolet Monte Carlo completed the race ahead of such greats as Paul Tracy and Kyle Busch. At one point the car was holding fourth place.

What a nice article. Donnie is a great individual and has strived hard to be able to race. Maryland is very proud of him. Thanks for your support to our favorite NASCAR driver.

Trisha Lambert White:
As I was sitting here watching the race with my husband he tells me that Donnie went to the same high school I went to. Gwynn Park, he graduated in 1981 and I was graduated 1983. Got my yearbook out and there he was. That is pretty wild since our school was such a larger one. Just a note. Good luck, Donnie.
