A car crash, which occurred in Cayman Brac in the early hours of Thursday, 22 January, has left one man dead and two others injured.

The dead man is 23-year-old Eric Dannie Dixon. His passengers, two men in their 20s, were also injured in the crash. The 21-year-old suffered serious injuries and has been airlifted to the United Stated for treatment, while the 23-year-old remains at Faith Hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

A Sergeant and an Accident Reconstructionist from the Traffic Management Unit in Grand Cayman left for Cayman Brac to assist with the investigation.

A Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) bulletin stated that at around 1:10 am a Special Constable reported to 911 Emergency Centre that a car had crashed in West End, near the Texaco gas station. All emergency services responded to the scene and found that a Silver Nissan Primera had collided with a parked car.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, and his two male passengers had all suffered serious injuries – all three were taken to hospital. Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead. Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard the crash or who saw the Nissan Primera prior to the accident. Anyone who can assist police should contact Cayman Brac Police Station on 948-0331.

Anyone with information about crime taking place in the Cayman Islands should contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477 (TIPS). All persons calling Crime Stoppers remain anonymous, and are eligible for a reward of up to $1000, should their information lead to an arrest or recovery of property/drugs.
