CIREBA Donates Funds to Cayman Island Red Cross

Hermant Balgobin accepted the generous donation from James Bovell of CIREBA in December.

As part of its ongoing community support, the Cayman Islands Real Estate Association (CIREBA) recently donated $10,000 to the Cayman Islands Red Cross to assist with the Cayman Brac relief efforts.

In a media release the CIREBA board observed that while Cayman Brac is recovering, residents are still feeling the aftereffects of the damage caused by Hurricane Paloma.

“The Brac and the people of the Brac are a major part of our community, we have to all pull together to offer support to them during this time of need.”

The Cayman Islands Red Cross Director Hermant Balgobin, who received the donation, explained, “The generous funding from CIREBA is being used in the rehabilitation process in the Brac, such as psychological support, training for shelter managers, teachers, guidance, councilors, nurses, emergency technicians and Red Cross volunteers.”

He pointed out that this is an important part of the rehabilitation process.
