Brac centenarian, Ellen Yapp, with Maxine McCoy-Moore during her birthday celebration.
Bracker, Ellen Yapp, celebrated her 100th birthday on 11 February, and on that special day enjoyed the company of many friends and other visitors.
Among those with her on this milestone occasion was Glamorous Granny, Maxine McCoy-Moore. They spoke about old times on the Brac and Little Cayman.
Among reflections were matters of storms to hit the Sister Islands, and Mrs Yapp said that the 1932 hurricane was worst than last year’s Hurricane Paloma, recalling that the ’32 storm came with a tidal wave. She spoke long and hard about making sure people are prepared for this hurricane season.
Mrs Yapp’s son, Hiram Yapp, lives in Miami, and daughter Ruby Tibbetts, resides on the Brac and is married to Pastor Davelee Tibbetts. |
