Errol P. Kellyman

Chief Executive Officer of Aviation Communications (AV COM), Errol Kellyman moved to Cayman from his native Jamaica in 1981. With a smile, he explains, “I was initially supposed to be here for only nine months, but have been here now for 27 years and enjoy performing my civil duty to the Cayman Islands.”

Forming AV COM in 1982 with Carl Godette, today his company is the main telecommunications provider for the Cayman Islands Aviation Authority (CIAA). Prior to coming to Cayman, he already had a dozen years experience in the industry.

“I have always been intrigued by the science and beauty involved in seeing an airplane fly,” says Mr Kellyman of an interest that stirred at a young age, which pushed him to pursue a careera in aviation communications.

An avid fan of cricket, Mr Kellyman says of the West Indies Cricket team, “They are in a process of rebuilding.”

He adds that he enjoys watching the news, and hearing the opinions of other people. When out of the office, the father of two sons, Donovan, and Michael, who are in school overseas, also enjoys dining at fine restaurants with wife Lois.
