Last week the Hon Minister for education Alden McLaughlin, took a closer look at the variety of business projects that young people have been involved in with the Junior Achievement programme.

He met with the student entrepreneurs at the offices of some of the local businesses and organisations that have been helping the youngsters with their businesses from their initial inception, marketing, sales development and then the eventual wind down.

The JAP helps youngsters get to grips with the ups and downs of running a business and helps them understand the process involved in running a business.

Mr McLaughlin visited the offices of the Deloitte Cayman National, Butterfield Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Royal Bank of Canada, Dart Management, Scotia Bank, Bank of America, Caribbean Publishing and Ernst & Young.

Whilst there he presented the advisors with certificates of appreciation and the Company charters to the company presidents of each of the projects.

He looked at the variety of goods the teams were producing from candles to coasters and was presented with a few goodies for himself.
