All students intending to apply for Government Scholarships to begin overseas studies in the upcoming academic year starting in September 2006 need to have their applications submitted by Friday, 31 March.
Students who intend to study locally will need to have their applications submitted by Thursday, 1 June. All applications must be submitted on time in order to be considered for this year.
Students who intend to begin overseas studies this fall already should have submitted their applications to overseas colleges. Scholarships for overseas courses are offered only for areas of study that are not available here in Cayman.
Before applying for overseas scholarship funds, students are expected to have completed at least two years of post-secondary studies – for example, in an associate degree or A-level programme.
Application forms and guidelines for both overseas and local scholarships are available at the Department of Employment Relations in Royal Plaza, across from the George Town Post Office.
Forms are also available on www.employmentservices.com; at the University College of the Cayman Islands; John Gray High School’s careers office; and the Teachers’ Centre and High School on Cayman Brac.
