Working dogs get their ‘permits’ too

According to Animal Health and Welfare Officer Maggie Baldino even working dogs need an annual licence Ms Baldino from the Department of Agriculture, licensed six dogs for the Cayman Islands Customs Department recently.
She also handed out 51 new licences to dog owners at the 1 March Agriculture Show, and 30 licences at the 5 March Humane Society Dog Wash in Bodden Town. Ms. Baldino reports that more than 365 licences were given out last year.
Dog licences are free, and are issued once dog owners submit a short application to the Department of Agriculture. They are stamped with a number that can be used to identify your pet if he or she is lost or picked up by an animal control officer.
