Alternative transportation on the Island continues to grow leading Piaggio and Vespa dealer Auto Alternative Cayman Ltd to follow the trend by expanding the knowledge and skills of its employees. Auto Alternative’s Managing Director, Lee Arie, said the sales and service departments have grown tremendously for the dealership due to the demand of the popular Italian scooters.

To maintain their high level of customer service and product offerings, Mr. Arie hired Caymanian, Giuliano Cornale, as a full time staff member and recently sent him to Piaggio’s North American Tech Center in Costa Mesa, California for training. Mr. Cornale, who attended college in Italy and speaks fluent Italian, has always held a passion for motorcycles and then fell in love with scooters, specifically the Italian made Piaggio and Vespa, while studying in Italy.

“I feel that Auto Alternative brings quality and professional service to the 2-wheel community of the Cayman Islands by not only selling a top quality product, but also by being knowledgeable in service and support,” explained Mr. Cornale. “It is very important that all employees of Auto Alternative know the products and service methods and requirements of everything we sell.

“Our customers know that they are purchasing the very finest scooters in the world and with their purchase they also deserve the very best service and support,” stated Mr. Arie. “By having Giuliano factory trained and certified, he will be able to carry on this excellence in service approach.”

Mr. Cornale attended training for service and maintenance for 2-stroke, 4-stroke carbureted and fuel injection engines, and electronics for Piaggio and Vespa scooters. He explained that he joined Auto Alternative to follow his passion for scooters and be a part of something that helps the people of Cayman.

“As a young Caymanian, I want to help provide Cayman’s residents with quality scooters that are fuel efficiency and eco-friendly transportation,” explained Mr. Cornale. “I could have chosen to go into the standard career path of most young Caymanians, but I chose an alternative that I love and am thankful to have an employer who is willing to develop my skills.”

Auto Alternative opened in September 2005 with the goal of providing Cayman a top quality scooter dealership offering the very best products, service and parts and accessories.
