Correction and Clarification

Wednesday, April 5, 2006

In the Tuesday 21 March edition of Cayman Net News we inadvertently stated that the Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (AWAC) had invited Billy Adam of the Free Dolphin in the Cayman Islands to make a presentation on his anti-dolphin campaign.

The accurate information is that the AWAC said it has invited Mr Adam only to “address the committee on matters relating to the welfare concerns surrounding the public display of dolphins.”

The committee has only invited observers from the companies permitted to import dolphins to listen to the address and they are not to make presentations as we said in the news item.

We apologise to all parties for the misinformation regarding this issue.
