I thought your editorial (“Cayman Brac needs action now instead of just words”) was very interesting. I am one of the owners/developers of the new 5-storey luxury resort just approved on the south side of the Brac.
Just a year ago, my partner and I were just two more ordinary tourists who fell in love with an island one could only refer to as paradise. My partner and I are both attorneys. I have a construction background and my partner has a background in finance, marketing and the hospitality industry.
It was obvious to us, two average tourists from California, when we visited the Brac one year ago that Grand Cayman was over-developed and the Brac was the ideal place, and ripe, for a development such as ours.
We spent a lot of time researching the Brac, its crime rate (what crime rate?!), the population, the people and an economic feasibility study. We read the government’s study commissioned in 2003 and knew what the Brac needed.
Once our future clients visit the island and discover just how friendly and hospitable the island’s people are, we know they’ll want to return, again and again. In fact, my partner plans on moving his family to the Brac when the resort is completed to manage the resort and learn more about this potentially exciting island paradise.
We sincerely hope our resort development will provide needed jobs on the Brac and will help boost the island’s economy. You can visit our website at http://www.crystalazure.com/.
