LETTER TO THE EDITOR
‘I am Caymanian’ and proud of it
Wednesday, April 26, 2006
Dear Sir:
I am proud of the contributions and investments I made to the economy of my country. I embrace and enjoy the fact that Caymanians are a diverse group of people.
I can have “fish tea” with “da bugman” one of the best fishermen on the island or I can drink a bottle of wine and have dinner with an Oxford educated Caymanian lawyer. I find both wonderful experiences.
The “old guard” cannot ignore the “bed” that was made many years ago. Whether they like it or not there is now a diverse group of Caymanians from many countries and cultures.
All Caymanians should work together to recovery from the economic hit from Ivan. All Caymanians should participate in the running and development of their country. The social barriers that I see emerging should come down.
It is only common sense that if all Caymanians work together Cayman will be a better place. Classes of Caymanians is a huge step backwards.
All the best Cayman
