Are Seventh Day Adventists Christians or ‘wannabe Jews’?

Dear Sir:

I respond to Amanda Wright who penned a letter on Wednesday, May 3, called “The coming war of the Sabbaths.”  Oh really?  When is this war set to begin, or has it already started? And who do you think will win? I intend to be on the winning side!

Please respond to this letter ma’am. It’s good to see that we are able to debate in a responsible manner. I respect you and you respect me.

First of all, please answer this simple question: Are you a Christian or ‘a want to be Jew?’ I have a great amount of respect for the Jewish people (God’s chosen people) and today I have a better appreciation of Judaism as I undertook a course of study of Jewish religion/way of life of which My Lord Jesus Christ was a part.

Let us remember, Jesus was not a Christian, He was in fact a Jew. He was Jewish as was His Mother and Stepfather and all His family for that matter! To this day the Jewish people observe their “Shabbat”, I suppose what my good friends the Adventists call the Sabbath. Christians observe Sunday as the Lord’s Day, as this is the day He was resurrected from the grave.

Yes, we Christians (Roman Catholics) changed it! Some Jews continue to wait for the Messiah to come. I, as a Christian, believe the Messiah came, His name was Jesus Christ, and He is my God. No one has to agree with me, feel free to disagree.

Today in Judaism there is the Hasidic Jew, the Secular Jew, the Reform Jew, the Orthodox Jew, the Messianic Jew... the list goes on. In the future I’ll elaborate deeper on Judaism.

Another question to Amanda Wright: Did you know that your church was started by a lady called Mrs Ellen G. White in 1860? I see that in your last letter to the editor you quoted quite a bit from her in a book published circa 1891 by this lady. Another question is who gave Mrs Ellen G. White her authority?

Why are Adventists so anti-Pope and against the Catholic Church? Please respond and answer these questions as I would really like to know.

In your letter you said that Jesus gave us the commandments and it was Jesus that spoke with Moses from the burning bush.  It was GOD! But then, do you or do you not believe in the Holy Trinity? I do, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Three in One.  God was always, even before Christ, but together they’re still one!

Are you reading the Torah or the Holy Bible? The first five books of the Old Testament is the Jewish Torah! Are You a Christian or a “wannabe Jew”?

By the way I enjoy a good meal with my Jewish friends overseas during Passover.  And I would also like to thank Mr George Walton from the Island of Cayman Brac for sharing the beauty of Temple Beth Shalom with me!
