Melanie Hulse from Cayman Airways and Donna Myrie-Stephen, Chair of the Cayman Carnival Batabano Committee, sign a sponsorship agreement for this year’s carnival. |
As the weekend approaches preparations for Cayman’s own special carnival, Batabano are reaching fever pitch and to help ensure that the festival is a clear success again this year, the national Flag Carrier, Cayman Airways has renewed its sponsorship of the cultural event.
“Cayman Airways has always supported Carnival,” said Donna Myrie-Stephen, Chair of the Cayman Carnival Batabano Committee when she went to collect the airline’s generous donation.
“We are delighted to have Cayman Airways on board once again. Our corporate sponsors do a tremendous amount to ensure the continued growth of carnival in Cayman.”
On renewing the longstanding sponsorship of Batabano, Melanie Hulse of Cayman Airways said: “Batabano is a tremendously important cultural event on Cayman’s calendar. We fully support the carnival committee in its efforts, and as such are happy to renew our sponsorship.”
The Batabano adult street parade takes place on Saturday 13 May at 3.30 pm. The parade starts on West Bay Road and continues all the way onto Harbour Drive in George Town.
“We are expecting a fantastic turnout for this year’s parade,” added Ms Myrie-Stephen. “Our slogan is ‘All nations, one celebration’, and thus we would like to invite everyone to come and celebrate carnival with us,” she added.
