Newly installed school speed zone warning signs have been activated at the Red Bay Primary and Savannah Primary schools. Motorists are asked to take note of this. Police presence will be on both sites during the relevant times to ensure that the public adheres to new zones.

Conch and Lobster Seasons & Fishing License Reminders

The Department of Environment and Marine Conservation Board wishes to remind the public that a fishing license is required for work permit holders who wish to fish from shore for consumption.

Applications for annual or monthly fishing licences can be obtained from the DoE’s office on North Sound Road. The DoE would also like to remind the public of the parameters for the lobster season which is now closed until 30 November 2006 and the conch season, which will close on 1 May through to 31 October 2006.
