The Pines Retirement Home thanked two representatives of HSBC Financial Services (Cayman) Limited, Sarah Coombs, Senior Vice President and Charles Hall, Chief Executive Officer, for their continued support and concern for the home on Friday 9 June.

During their visit, Pines Manager, Sue Nicholson, said: "Since Hurricane Ivan, HSBC donated over CI$42,600 to The Pines. Given that The Pines has a deficit of some CI$15,000 per month, HSBC's contributions assist to maintain the operation of the home.

"The Pines also received donations of new furniture for residents' rooms, drapery for the living and dining areas, and a television and DVD/VCR for the common area from HSBC, which had a positive impact on our residents' quality of life."

In the months following Hurricane Ivan, staff of HSBC volunteered their time and energy preparing for the residents' return to the home.

Many Saturday mornings were spent sanitizing rooms, washing wheelchairs and adaptive equipment, and clearing the yard of debris.
