Person of the Day

Following a cruise in 1981, Sandy first discovered the Cayman Islands. Falling in love, she bought property and relocated permanently in 1986.  After building a fulfilling life, Ms Tristan decided to tour the world and is one of the few people who has visited every continent except Antarctica.

An entrepreneur by nature, she established a school for the mentally and physically disabled in America, a foundation to save sloths in Costa Rica, and also owned and operated a horse farm in addition to her property investments.

Traveling gave Ms Tristan a greater appreciation for the kindness, warmth, and unique beauty of the people who lived in Cayman. She couldn't wait to return to what she truly believes is the 'gem' of the Caribbean.
