Scavenger Hunt treasures education

On Saturday June 1, The Cayman Islands Students Association (CISA) held their annual scavenger hunt which began at the public beach.

This fundraiser supports college education for students born and raised in the Cayman Islands while promoting cultural knowledge about the Island by motivating participants to follow clues which lead them to find buried treasures at historically significant places in Cayman.

From 11:00 am until mid-afternoon, 9 teams comprised of 4 people competed to find the clues and raise money to benefit Caymanian students pursuing college education locally and overseas.

The event has a long history and has occurred every year for as long as members of the CISA can recall.

The CISA is a group of young adults born, raised, and educated in Cayman who develop events to support advanced education among young Caymanians.

CISA works diligently to garner community interest and successfully generated prize donations from many local businesses to reward participants of the scavenger hunt.

Sponsors of the event include Cayman Airways, Sport n' Zone, Moritz, Boatswain Beach, Alantis, Red Sail, Blockbuster, King Sport Center, Funky Tangs, Standards by Atlantic, and Winner's Circle along with several restaurants and food establishments, including PD's, Arthur Treachers, Hard Rock Cafe, Chocolate Creations, Subway, and Burger King.
