High scoring week for Blue Devils team

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Two against one

Week three of the Digicel Women's Indoor League was a busy one with all eight teams playing.

Friday (7 July) night saw the Division 1 matches. To start the evening Butterfield Bank took on KPMG. A single goal by Butterfield's Vilma Guidden proved insufficient as Yessenia Prado scored two goals to take the win 2-1 for KPMG. Next Blue Devils met Scott's Marine in a game which could have changed the top spot in Division 1. Blue Devils responded to the challenge by putting four goals past Scott's Marine, winning by 4-0. For the Blue Devils Antoinette Thompson scored two with Sophia Johnston and Zoenief Walker adding one goal each.

On Sunday, (9 July) the action moved to Division 2. Caledonian meeting Budget in a match which, despite plenty of action, ended in a 0-0 draw. To end the evening RC Panthers challenged Kickers for the Division 2 leadership. In the end Kickers held on with a single goal from Joyce Follows.

After the week's play both tables remain unchanged with Blue Devils heading Division 1 and Kickers at the top of Division 2.

In the tables of leading scorers Antoinette Thompson for Blue Devils moves from eighth place to third and Yessenia Prado for KPMG goes from tenth to fourth.
