Androgroup Touch Rugby gets down to business

Butterfield Butterfingers show off their new sponsorship


After several tough weeks of grading games the 23 teams and nearly 400 competitors in the Androgroup Summer Touch Rugby have now been split into two divisions with PWC, The Wreckers, KPMG and Deloitte all being promoted to division one.

The teams now play weekly matches within their divisions until finals day on 23 September.

Round one started on 26 July with HSBC playing Butterfield Butterfingers in Division 1 and Maples & Calder 2 meeting Walkers Blue Iguanas in Division 2, both games starting at 5.10pm. Play continued with Muppets vs Maples & Calder and Admiral Marsh Sharks vs KPMG 2. at 6.10pm.

On 27 July the line up is Deloitte 1 vs Five Nations and Ogier Simpsons vs UBS 1 then PWC vs KPMG 1 and 2 Kroll Barbarians vs Grizz's Old Fellas.

Round one ends on 28 July with Citco vs Harmonic and Deloitte 2 vs Cable & Wireless then Wreckers vs Inevitables.

This week's Player of the Week awards go to Belinda Bramley (HSBC) for her demonstration of how not to wash a white t-shirt and James Alt (Deloitte) for being "Playa of the Week" off the pitch. They win lunch at Food for Thought Delicatessen on Mary Street.
