Thursday, August 3, 2006

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, (RCIPS) said on Tuesday they have charged a man with the murder of 31-year-old Preston Rehardo Mclean Junior (aka Bobo), from George Town.

Preston received stab wounds and a blow to his head during an incident at the former Octopus nightclub, more than one year ago on 25 June 2005 during an incident when another man was also stabbed.

Police said that on 1 August, Omar Badou Robinson, 22, of Bodden Town, was remanded in custody to appear in court at a later date.

New evidence came to light in the case which according to the RCIPS was investigated by the Criminal Investigations Department in June of this year which led to the arrest and charge.

Anyone with information about crime taking place in the Cayman Islands should contact  their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 800 (TIPS). Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and could be entitled to a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
