At the Morgan Gallery: Bonaventure Home residents enjoy the National Gallery's Art Outreach programme.
Under the tutorage of Outreach Instructor for the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, Aston Ebanks, the Bonaventure Boys Home Art Outreach Programme is thriving once more.
Kindly sponsored by Rotary Club of Grand Cayman it takes place at the home in West Bay every Thursday afternoon from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
"The challenges never stop coming," said Mr Ebanks.
"Every Thursday for two hours I try to hold the interest of four incorrigible boys at the Bonaventure Boys Home. Covering topics from painting to line drawing and photography I've been trying to instill in them the importance art plays in our every day life by first recognizing that we are constantly surrounded by it."
Mr Ebanks said that the youngsters have been far afield in pursuit of their work.
"Exposing them to art and its varying forms sometimes means going on field trips. We've been to the Alison Lasley exhibition at the National Gallery and the Morgan Gallery in Galleria Plaza," he added.
"So far photography seems to be the medium holding their interest.
There will be an exhibit of their photographs and select pieces of the works created in this program and all the other Outreach Programs held at the National Gallery in August."
Programme sponsor Rotary Club of Grand Cayman has been behind this initiative for years, the President, Joseph Hew said.
