BrightStaff, a financial services recruitment firm, said that it is going the extra mile to help its professionals relocating to the Cayman Islands with a relocation package.
Recruiting talented professionals has grown increasingly more difficult the firm said, so employers are seeking creative ways to attract the best talent to compliment their workforce.
For many years, international employers have offered benefits including gym memberships, recreational rooms with games or pool tables and even nap rooms. Introducing 'outside-of-the-box' ideas to make staff feel valued and appreciated is top of mind for many international businesses, and Cayman businesses are catching on to that now as well.
As part of BrightStaff's relocation support, it has teamed up with Digicel to offer its candidates cell phones when they arrive on the Island so that they are immediately in contact with friends and family back home.
"When a new hire arrives on the Island, initially the move can be a little overwhelming - there are a lot of things to adjust to - a new job, setting up a new home and a new way of life," said BrightStaff President, Kathleen Jackman.
"Employers should act as a guide and help their new hires experience a smooth transition."
She recommended employers consider whether their orientation programs provide new staff with insight into Cayman's social culture as well as the company's work culture. "Surveying new or existing staff is a great way to understand how to make relocation easier for new hires. For example, we ask our new recruits what they particularly appreciated about our assistance when they moved, and we've developed our relocation programme around their answers."
