Wednesday, August 16, 2006

Suzanne Collins
VP Broadband and Voice
Cable & Wireles

Continuing its pledge to support the professional development of its employees Cable and Wireless said Suzanne Collins, Vice President of Broadband and Voice has been given a scholarship to pursue a Masters in Business Administration at City University in London.

"I appreciate the support Cable & Wireless has provided me to further develop my career and especially for the opportunity to obtain a masters degree. Obtaining an MBA has always been one of my goals," Mrs Collins said about her scholarship.

Having started her career with Cable and Wireless in 1998 as an Internet Help Desk Support Representative Mrs. Collins has since held the positions of Broadband Programme Manager and Product Manager.

In 2003 she was given the Chief Executive's Award for Excellence as a token of appreciation for her leading role in the implementation of the company's Customer Care and Billing System and the GSM mobile service.

Mrs. Collins obtained CISCO certifications during her time at C&W and made headlines in 2005 as the youngest appointed VP at Cable & Wireless.

She noted that the most exciting part of her experience at Cable & Wireless has been the opportunity to work with new and innovative technologies and actually seeing how the evolution of technologies enhances the lives of customers.

Mrs Collins will be saying farewell to her colleagues on 18 of August before she heads to the UK.

Her husband, a local attorney and her daughter will be accompanying her to England and upon completion of the graduate degree she will be back in Cayman to reclaim her post with Cable & Wireless and is confident that having an MBA will only further enhance her role as VP.

"We at Cable & Wireless are invested in our employees and their professional growth. We are pleased to be able to offer Suzanne this scholarship. Her hard work and dedication to the company has been admirable and she has been a role model to her fellow employees, we look forward to her return." Ian Tibbetts, Chief Operating Officer, Cable & Wireless (Cayman Islands) Ltd. said.
