Clean sweep for RCIPS at local park

Saturday, August 19, 2006

PCs Eric Ebanks and Steve Myres put their back into the park clean up

On Saturday, 5 August, officers from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service were making a clean sweep in West Bay with members of the West Bay Action Community Team as they all joined forces to clean up the local Community Park.

Those taking part spent the day clearing the area of debris, mostly left over from Hurricane Ivan.

"It is extremely pleasing to see the community and the police working in a pro-active partnership to deal not only with direct issues of crime but also with helping to keep the community clean as well," said Area Commander Chief Inspector Richard Simms.

"I would like to thank all members of the Action Committee for taking part in this project and we at the RCIPS were equally happy to participate."
