Crosstalk celebrates four years of opinion

Monday, August 28, 2006

Barrie Quappe
Host of Cayman Crosstalk

The Cayman Island's only daily radio talkshow Cayman Crosstalk with Barrie Quappe is celebrating its four-year anniversary of giving the Caymanian people a place to voice their opinions.

Taking the competitive morning slot on Rooster 101.9, Crosstalk has engaged the people here on a range of interesting and controversial topics.

During the past four years, Ms Quappe's guests have included politicians, business leaders and other movers and shakers.  However, she says her favorite interviews are the ones with the extraordinary "ordinary" people who bring Cayman's colorful history and rich culture to life.

Ms Quappe has invited guest host Ellio Solomon to join the Crosstalk team in what she hopes will be a growing trend.

"This addition to the team is most welcome and should increase the resources and research shared on-air to contribute to exciting debate on a regular basis. Our goal is to invite more guest hosts to add perspective to a number of topics," she said.

Ms Quappe emphasizes that the phone lines will still be open and available during Crosstalk.
"After all, the show is all about the listeners and their views are very important to our programme."

As part of Monday's special 4th Anniversary celebration for Cayman Crosstalk with Barrie Quappe the staff and management of Rooster 101 are inviting listeners to stop by their studios in the Crighton Building on Crewe Road for coffee and cake after the show ends at 9:00 am.

"It's our way of saying 'thanks for listening'!" said Ms Quappe.
