Two teenaged Caymanians will be in the spotlight this weekend when the US nationally syndicated TV show airs on local television station CITN.
Kamala Murugesu and Wendy Adam will be co-hosting the "Awesome Adventures" show, which airs on at 1:00 pm on Cayman 27 on Saturday, 30 September.
The show's production took place in the Cayman Islands from 12 to 15 May, filming segments on both Grand Cayman and Little Cayman.
The Cayman Islands episode will feature Awesome Adventures' host Mystro Clark with co-hosts Ms Murugesu and Ms Adam exploring fun and educational activities in the Cayman Islands.
Producers from a list of dozens of hopeful applicants selected the two teenagers.
The three days of filming included various stops in Grand Cayman and Little Cayman that highlight the destination's culture and soft adventure aspects.
Activities on the production team's itinerary included Boatswain's Beach, Stingray City, Black Pearl Skate and Surf Park, the Blue Iguana Conservatory at Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, a fishing excursion and kayaking trip out to Owen Island with Southern Cross Club, and a close look at this year's Batabano festivities.
The visiting media's trip and production was made possible by the efforts of the Department of Tourism and members of the private sector, including Cayman Airways, Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa and the Southern Cross Club.
Local company, Blair Marketing and Productions, was hired by Awesome Adventures' producers to film all of the segments.
Producer of Awesome Adventures, Merv Jones, commended the work of the two youngsters and the hospitality of the Cayman people.
"We found the people to be very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Those that guided us through our many activities were extremely knowledgeable. Kamala and Wendy were bright, energetic and very professional," he said.
Mr Jones said: "From what we shot in Cayman, we have the makings of a very entertaining show."
