In regard to Mr. Beeker's letter making suggestions on the ban of turtle meat, I would like to say, when pigs fly!
Turtle meat, turtle stew and other parts of the turtle have been found to contain no cholesterol so eating this is so much healthier than eating beef or pork.
The turtle and all of the byproducts are all a part of Cayman culture and this is definitely here to stay.
To write negatively about the turtle farm is a no-no to Caymanians. Let me urge you and every Caymanian to get out and support the new, upgraded, world-class Turtle Farm.
Everyone should go to the snack bar and get the turtle soup and add the turtle patty to that.
See the Hawksbill, Green, Loggerhead and Ridley's Kemp turtles and know and learn the unique differences in these animals. Do not forget after buying your ticket upon entry from the courteous and gracious Caymanians to look overhead and admire the wooden ceiling in the room.
The Turtle Farm is more than just another jewel to Cayman. It provides jobs for Caymanians and more. The Turtle Farm returns turtles to the sea, sells a small amount of meat to restaurants for consumption and is a way of replenishment for the entire Caribbean.
Mr. Beeker, respectfully I say, you might just want to get a ticket and see the new Cayman of today and try the turtle meat again, you'll like it.
We will not tell PETA or any of the other organizations that you probably belong to. I know, they have brainwashed you that turtle meat is not good.
That is just not so. So, why not go ahead get your airline ticket today and fly to Cayman. You will have such a great time that you will secretly want to live there.
By the way, do not forget to go to the Turtle Farm and support the business.
