St Ignatius announces winners in fundraising draw

Friday, January 5, 2007

Nicole McLean-High wins the St Ignatius grand prize of CI$25,000.

A parent who planned on sending her child to the St Ignatius School is the grand prize winner of its $25,000 Christmas fundraiser draw.

Nicole McLean-High was last month announced the winner of the St Ignatius Catholic Church and School draw.

After Dara Keogh of KPMG authenticated and validated that the ticket drawing was approved to proceed, the winners were drawn live on Cayman 27’s DayBreak show on Friday, 22 December.

Mrs McLean-High, the mother of three children, was thrilled to win CI$25,000, according to the organisers.

Mrs McLean-High said one of her children will be attending the school later this year.

The ticket seller for the grand prize was Jean Pereira, a parishioner and long-time supporter of the church and school, was very excited to cash in CI$2,500.

When a fundraising coordinator called Ms Pereira to advise her of the prize, her excitement echoed within the halls of the church.

Mrs Felicia Bodden was the second prize winner of CI$2,500 and has already deposited her funds into her Student Savers Account in preparation for university in the United Kingdom.

The third prize winner of US$2,500, Lucy Cooke, plans to open a savings account with her winnings.

Mrs Cooke purchased the winning ticket from her niece, Rejonte Rivers, who is a Year 10 student at St Ignatius.

There were 25 fourth prize winners who are the lucky recipients of a one-of-a-kind, life-time warranty St Ignatius quill pen.

St Ignatius event coordinators reported that over 4,000 tickets were sold in support of the fundraiser, resulting in exceeding their net proceeds goal.

The needed funds are earmarked for a variety of educational and religious programmes.

St Ignatius extends their deepest thanks to students, parents, staff, parishioners and the Cayman community for their overwhelming support of this very important fundraising initiative.
