LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Practice ordinary courtesy on the roads
Monday, January 29, 2007
Dear Sir:
Apparently Tim Dailey doesn’t quite understand the concept of defensive driving — or else he’s one of the many “do as I say, not as I do” drivers making Cayman’s roads so treacherous. “Giving [an ignorant driver] reason to consider their stupidity and perhaps not repeat it” by taking your right of way regardless of where the other driver is sitting is not defensive driving, nor does that kind of discourteous behaviour promote road safety. Those lessons are properly taught by the police, not by an angry driver in a bigger vehicle. And as for his wife, since when does being pregnant relieve you of practicing ordinary courtesy on the roads?
