Diabetes Association meeting
The Cayman Islands Diabetes Association would like to extend a warm invitation to all Diabetics and non-diabetics to come to their next monthly meeting to be held on Wednesday 2 May 2007 at the Public Health/Women’s Health section of the Cayman Islands Hospital, at 6:00 pm. An Island-wide bat count on Grand Cayman
The Cayman Wildlife Committee invites volunteers to come and help them count the bats at the 49 bat houses around Grand Cayman, at sunset, until Monday 30 April. For more information contact Lois Blumenthal at info@caymanwildlife.org.

Deliverance and Hope Seminar
The Agape Family Worship Centre will be hosting a satellite seminar on Deliverance and Hope with Beth Moore on Saturday 5 May at 8:30 am. This is a special event as thousands of women will gather for this encore seminar. Registration at University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI)
Registration for the Summer Semester 2007 is now open at the University College of the Cayman Islands. Classes begin on Monday 7 May.
Students are welcome to register for all programmes and courses including the Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, Professional Development and Continuing Education.

Construction Zone
National Roads Authority (NRA) officials advise that the East-West Arterial (running from Hirst Road to Shamrock Road) is a construction zone and motorists should refrain from using it until it is completed later this year.
Officials from the NRA said that motorists who use the incomplete highway are risking their own safety, that of their passengers and those around them.
The NRA strongly urges motorists to desist from driving on the East-West Arterial while it is under construction.
NRA officials also noted that as with the extension of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway currently there are no safety control measures on the East-West Arterial.

Cayman Islands Postal Service Saturday hours
The Cayman Islands Postal Service (CIPS) reminds the public that post offices are open on Saturdays between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm on Grand Cayman. Please note that H.M. Customs is closed at 12 noon on Saturdays at the Airport Post Office for parcel collection. Cayman Brac’s Saturday post office hours are 9:00 am to 11:30 am, and Little Cayman’s are 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The CIPS is also reminding residents that Saturday is an ideal time to stop by the post office to take advantage of CIPS’s growing list of Value-Added Services. Customers can pay their CUC electrical bills, garbage collection fees, and phone bills at most post offices on Grand Cayman.
They can also top up their pay-as-you-go Digicel and Cable & Wireless cell phones at most post offices on all three Islands while Cayman Brac residents can pay for their CINICO insurance at the West End Post Office.

Lunchtime Lectures
Intelligent walk-through lectures revolve around the current show, but are always different in content, and are led by Sorbonne graduate Emerentienne Paschalides. Complimentary sandwiches and drinks provided.
They are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 12:15 pm at the National Gallery Harbour Place. Please RSVP nat.gal@candw.ky to ensure you are catered for.  Admission is $5.00, free for members.

National Gallery’s Scrapbooking Club
Ladies, join in these relaxed, creative sessions every Wednesday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the National Gallery Education Centre, Bay Town Plaza, West Bay Road. $5.00 per session, or free for members, please present card. Cayman Aquatics wishes to inform the public that “Water Safety Comes First”. No one should ever be considered drown-proof. Prevention is the finest cure.
You can introduce the teaching of water safety skills as early as two months old and you are never “too old” to Learn Water Safety skills that may not only save your life but someone else’s.

The Pink Ladies Volunteer Corps
Would like to inform the public that their Pink Hibiscus Coffee Shop located at George Town Hospital has been relocated within the Hospital.
It is open five and a half days a week and situated in the old X-Ray Department opposite the Mental Health Department just along from the Women’s Centre. The new telephone number is 329-3491 and telephone orders for take-away food are always welcome.

Art Magnet
Are you middle-school aged, love art, and feeling lonely, or in trouble?  The National Gallery’s State Street-sponsored Art Magnet is a FREE programme for middle-school aged, children who love art and are between ages 10-12.
Art Magnet takes place every Wednesday from 5:15-7:15 pm at the National Gallery Education Centre, Bay Town Plaza, West Bay Road. Free transportation available in George Town area pending space.

The First Assembly of God youth meetings
The First Assembly of God church, located at 195 Old Crewe Road in George Town invites girls aged three to 16 to come to Missionettes, Fridays at 6:30 pm. On Saturdays at 2:30 pm there is Kingdom Blocks, this caters to boys and girls of all ages. For more information call 945-2182.
