Carol Hay and her mother, the late Dorothea Whitehorne.
I would like to thank everyone who sent cards and offered comfort due to the recent passing of my beloved Mother, Dorothea Whitehorne.
To my big sister, Sandra Solomon, who was “The Rock” to which I clung during the waiting process.
To my husband, Kenny, who never faltered and brought sense to all my senselessness and confusion.
To my daughter, Alyson, who dried my eyes and brightened my days with poetry and prose wise beyond her years.
To co-ordinator Grace Garcia and Dr. Joe Ostroski (International Patient Services at Baptist Hospital) for their professional care and extraordinary compassion.
To neurologist Dr. Seth Hochman, a man of straight-talking honesty.
And last (for he must be kept in his place!) but not least, to my nemesis, Stephen Hall-Jones, whose “Mondays with Major” no-nonsense pep talks kept me grounded and off Xanax!
And another thing…!
“Stay positive but stay in reality...
You have to go through feelings to be able to get out the other side ….
The only way out is through, not around.” …
and to all those who patted me and just said, “I’m there” – I know, I saw you, and I acknowledge you here. - Carol Hay
