Residents and visitors alike will enjoy a
true taste of the Cayman Islands, with the new cookbook, Miss Cleo’s
Cayman Kitchen: Treasured Recipes from East End.
Published by Cayman Net Ltd, the cookbook
is Miss Cleopatra Conolly’s collection of favorite recipes savored by
residents and visitors to East End for over 32 years—including His Royal
Highness Prince Charles.
The culinary delights found in Miss
Cleo’s Cayman Kitchen include her signature dishes like Prime Turtle
Steak, East End Style Conch Stew and Lobster Thermidor; many of her famous
homemade soups and breads, and sweet temptations such as Cleo’s Cayman Lime
Pie, Custardy Bread Pudding and Pineapple Upside Down Cake.
In her much anticipated book, Miss Cleo
takes those who love to cook on a journey from life as a little girl in East
End to her first job in the kitchen at Tortuga Club, where she spent 32
years as the Islands’ first female Executive Chef.
Although retired from the kitchen at
Morritt’s Tortuga Club, Miss Cleo continues as the resort’s Hospitality
Ambassador, greeting and charming visitors to the Island with her gracious
nature and wonderful Caymanian stories.
Her book, written from memory, with
Barbara Currie-Dailey, is available at the Cayman Net News office at Alissta
Towers and local retail outlets throughout the Island, including Book Nook
and Hobbies and Books.
