Letter: Justice is served

Published on Sunday, September 6, 2009Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir,

Congratulations, Adam McIntyre. The more we are immersed into accusing each other the less we think about our own indiscretions. When we unfairly behave towards others, the inequity instigates more strife than we know how to handle. There is a vast disparity between vengefulness and transparency. It did take the Cayman Islands Appeals Court to exercise transparency in Adam McIntyre’s case. I believe the case brought against Adam McIntyre was borne from vengefulness. I should know. I worked with him for almost three years during which he was accused.

Mayo Angelo could not have put it a better way: ‘You may write me down in history. With your bitter, twisted lies, you may trod me in the very dirt. But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?

Bowed head and lowered eyes?

Shoulders falling down like teardrops. Weakened by my soulful cries; you may shoot me with your words; you may cut me with your eyes; you may kill me with your hatefulness. But still, like air, I’ll rise’.

Congratulations, Adam McIntyre. As you rise, work diligently and creatively and play your part in advancing the welfare of the inmates you so reputedly served.

M. Simpson
