Letter: Kudos to Joy Basdeo

Published on Wednesday, September 9, 2009Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir,

Kudos to Mrs Joy Basdeo for all she has done and is doing for the ongoing work in education for the young people of the Cayman Islands.

Mrs Basdeo is a force for working in a positive way in the face of current challenges. She has put a fresh face on things by saying that we will look at the scholarship situation, rework things and move forward.

There are lots of opportunities that exist out there and Caymanians will rise to the challenges. For instance, Baylor University in Texas offers 100 percent scholarships for the National Merit Scholarships. This scholarship also includes the Regents and the President’s Scholarship. Researching available scholarships for graduating Caymanians is available to all of us now on the internet so we can be thankful for this.

Thank you, Mrs Basdeo, for all that you continue to do for the Cayman Islands. You are a hard working lady that deserves much appreciation and applause.
