Letter: Vote of no confidence petition

Published on Sunday, October 11, 2009Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

My friends, family and fellow Caymanians, on Friday, 2 October 2009, I brought to you a vote of No Confidence against the government of today, reasons given to you within the petition. However the ping pong game being played by these folks isn’t sound and to make a few gestures to the UK government, just to be able to borrow more money, will only make our situation worse. We will be back to a trickle-down effect and for too long the natives of these Islands have been used just to keep ‘irresponsibles’ in power (so-called).

Therefore, if they were really thinking about increasing revenue, first these members should reduce their salary. That would give some credence. Next, the civil servants could be asked to give a little and only make business calls and so on.

Yes, my dear friends, firms, businesses, labourers should all have been paying a fee for many years, but for the lack of ability and knowledge we find ourselves in this position today. Now they want to sell Caymanians for sewage, and let the rich get richer and the poor, poorer. Now my friends, it’s time to wake from slumber and realise one sandwich and a soda at election time will not suffice for tomorrow. Then, please remember if we don’t cling together we’ll all be hung separately, so let’s rid the Cayman Islands of the evil and sign the ‘Vote of No Confidence Petition’.

My name is Cadian Ebanks and my phone number is 924-4915. Don’t wait!

Cadian Ebanks
