Letter: No longer the islands that time forgot

Published on Wednesday, November 4, 2009Email To Friend    Print Version

Dear Sir:

Well, my dear friends, Cayman is sure looking good now, just take a glance at all these fancy suggestions that will take place after November 6, 2009.

Increased drug sentencing from 20 to 25 years; legal aid will be only for the United Democratic Party members, and associates; Hotel Association services, greatly improved but not for Cayman citizens; and after mentioning all these fancy improvements it will not be reckoned or called the Islands time forgot.

But we will have to say forget it, I mean leave and I am told that quite a few have left already and gone to the Brac but I don’t think that will be a refuge for us either unless we can steal in one of those caves and close the entrance.

However, there are a few bits that I’ll throw to you as questions.

Was there any mention of a monetary fine to be included with the 25 years of prison sentence, or that will be for the lawful citizens part of the sentence to pay, as if we had committed the offence?

My friends, I think that we need responsible people drafting our laws. Yes, my dear friends, that’s exactly why the government has so many court cases against it; therefore, that’s what you get when you engage persons with the gray matter as that of common labourers and domestic helpers.
Yes, I believe that is what they proposed when they mentioned the new Hotel Association services because I don’t see anything in the new revenue measures either.

Man, that guy will sure be some busy dude with all of these positions after November 6, not counting most of the time he’ll be off the island racking up the numbers.

However, I beg you all that if there is another general election, try to find a way to end this ping pong government the UK has designed for us.

This is like putting on the left shoe on the right foot or picking up what you have thrown away so many times.

Cadian Ebanks
