Government's approval rating declines

Published on Thursday, November 5, 2009Email To Friend    Print Version

In the seven weeks or so since the last Cayman Net News online poll on the topic, the government’s approval rating amongst readers appears to have declined significantly.

Our latest poll asked the question “Do you approve or disapprove of the government’s performance to date?” and a total of 267 readers responded using internet devices located in the Cayman Islands.

Of these, 119 readers (44.6 percent) indicated their approval. This compares to 56.4 percent approval on 16 September 2009.

The number of readers indicating their disapproval in the latest poll was 117 (43.8 percent), up from 32.9 percent disapproving in the September poll.

The percentage of readers saying they didn’t know remained fairly constant, however – 31 readers (11.6 percent) in the latest poll, compared to 10.7 percent previously.

Visit CaymanNetNews.com to vote in the current online poll: “Do you think the increase in work permit fees is economically justified at this time?”
