Earth Day - What is there to ‘Sea’ in the Grass? Tuesday, April 22, 2:30-4:30 pm
Discover the wonderful world of seagrass with a presentation at the National Trust house followed by a snorkel across or walk along a seagrass meadow. The children will then return to the Trust house to look at some seagrass treasures under the Trust’s new digital microscope. Please call for reservations, space is limited. CI$ 15.00.

Business & Professional Women’s Club Meetings
The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Grand Cayman meets every 3rd Monday of the month, however in recognition of the Public Holidays in May and June (Discovery Day and Queen’s Birthday) these meeting dates will be held on Wednesday, 21 May and Wednesday, 18 June. DEH School Clean-up Campaign for Earth Week

Children’s Books Needed
The Early Childhood Services Unit and National Parenting Programme is urging the public to donate gently used or new children’s books to the Week of the Young Child’s Book Drive until Saturday 31 May. Book drive drop-off boxes are located at: Books and Books at Camana Bay, Hobbies and Books in Grand Harbour and Piccadilly Square, George Town, Bodden Town and East End libraries.

Lobster Pot Dive Center ‘Week for the Trust’
Visit Lobster Pot Dive Center in George Town for a week-long fundraiser for the National Trust for the Cayman Islands which began on 19 April and continues to 26 April. An Island-Wide Bat Count on Grand Cayman
Interested persons are invited to volunteer their time with the National Trust Bat Conservation Programme up to Monday 28 April to help count the bats at the 49 bat houses around Grand Cayman. Count the bats at sunset! Even three bats coming out of a bat house is significant - it means they have found it and more will be there soon.

Bottle Crusher for Recycling at National Trust
The National Trust informs the public that they have received a Bottle Crusher for recycling.
Also needed are large trashcans and used 5 gallon Tubs for storing recycled glass from their Bottle Crusher. Recycled glass will be for sale (CI$1 a tub) and can be used for filling in driveways, under tarmac etc. Those interested in seeing demonstrations are invited to visit the Visitor’s Centre at Dart Park, South Sound, from Mondays – Friday, at 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
They ask that people bring clean empty bottles for recycling and “help us help you recycle!”

Used Stamps
The National Trust is also collecting used stamps. Just drop them off at the Visitor’s Centre at the Dart Park or Mission House.

The National Trust says that they have had a challenge from a generous individual who would like to donate CI$300 for Earth Day T-shirts but only if more individuals match his offer!!
T-shirts will be donated to Key-clubs/ Youth Groups or Service Groups who are involved in Earth Week Activities.
