Dear Sir:
The population is expanding. There is reduced land, fuel and water. Add the other negative of animal agriculture which is health concerns - why would any progressive or clear headed government/business think “more/better livestock” is necessarily a good idea (“Livestock farmers to upgrade herd”)?
Livestock is responsible for deforestation and soil degradation. Plant based protein is inefficiently converted into animal “foods”. Man lives quite fine skipping the middle step and eating the plants directly. There are less environmental concerns with harvesting vegetation than raising livestock... Fecal matter runs into rivers and kills watershed life. Eating meat has been linked to several cancers, diabetes and obesity.
Evaluating all the negatives leads me to believe that the Cayman Islands and Florida “cattlemen” are not that “progressive” after all.
