Swimmers of all abilities in the Cayman Islands are invited to participate in the 20th Annual CUC 800m sea swim this Saturday, 25 October.
The swim will start at 4:00pm at Governor’s Beach, and finish at Public Beach on West Bay Road.
The CUC Sea Swim will be the last 800m open water event held in 2008. Although trophies will be awarded for the top three male and female finishers in all age categories, the emphasis for this swim has historically been about participation.
Swimmers will receive T-shirts, pizza and refreshments after the race, and a CUC swim-cap, which must be worn during the race for safety considerations.
Registration for the CUC 800m sea swim will be held in the Governor’s Beach parking area prior to the race, from 3:00pm to 3:45pm. Entry fees for Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association members are $5 for children and $10 for adults, while non-members pay $10 for children and $15 for adults. For more information and registration forms in advance of the race, please email ciasaopenwater@yahoo.com.
