A post-Paloma view of the Bluff
Another positive note from Cayman Brac, especially for spelunkers, or cave explorers, and amateur geologists, indicates that Hurricane Paloma has visibly enhanced the beauty of the Bluff face.
Especially on the north side, vegetation loss has revealed many small caves and fissures, stalactites, trickling water, and Caymanite rock patterns, according to a Hazard Management Cayman Islands press release. Some of the caves are clearly visible, even from the roadside.
Popular tourist attractions, the Bluff caves have for centuries also served as natural hurricane shelters. |
